The Beginning
Nobody was there at the beginning. There was, in fact, nothing, a void. There wasn’t even a bit of dust flying around what may have appeared to be a giant gymnasium with all the lights out. You kind of wandered around in the dark bumping into bleachers or tripping over old volleyball nets lying on the hardwood floors. Except, there was no one to wander around. A void, devoid, nada.
This is how the bible tells us was where we are now but couched a bit differently in form and substance. You ever read the bible? I do. These last couple of weeks I’ve been reading both Job and Ecclesiastes, two of the books in the bible. Quite informative are those two books. Well, at least, they are informative to me. They kind of tell you that what you are thinking is the same as they were thinking back then with the caveat that those two books allow you to know why things are as they are. The secret is, things have always been the same.
Oh sure, we have TECH!!! So what? We’re still dealing with ourselves, right? You and I. We aren’t all that easy to deal with either. So, what can we expect of others? Expectations of others always lead to disappointment. Let’s just do the basics, change our socks at least twice a week, brush our teeth at least three times a day and give each other room to be as stupid as we want to be. Change your shorts each day to. (I almost forgot to mention shorts!)
I am going to broach a lot of different topics here but always with my brand of dry humor. You know, dry humor? The kind of humor you have to watch out for or it catches up with you in inopportune moments causing a fit of enlightenment when you least expect it. Like, in the gym. Was that a muffled giggle in the dark?
