What Do I Know?
A title to an article shouldn’t be a question unless the one writing the article has an answer. Well, I caught myself here didn’t I? Just when I thought it would be fine to ask the same question the “great” philosophers asked, I found I had their answer! Are there any “great” philosophers around any more? They all died as I recollect. Whatever answers they had dang sure didn’t make them eternal . . . one might suppose. I mean, what is the answer if it has nothing to do with eternity? That’s a good question but, probably not the best.
Eternity. Why do we have that word in the world’s languages? Or, infinity, which is a long way from lunch. I have a couple of old tape measures and I can’t measure infinity even if I go out to the street and mark each sixteen foot measure with chalk and repeat ad infinitum. I still can’t measure infinity and I spent two months trying! I know, there is no such thing as infinity or we would know where it ends and put apartment buildings on that acreage. (If we didn’t run out of asphalt first.) I think its worth a try though, don’t you?
