An Old Man

Your author here is old. Not as old as dirt but dirt is not a word I ever thought I would become. Such is the folly of youth as so much depends on youthful vigor. Vigor that can take one of two directions. The same age old directions that have existed since the Garden of Eden: good or evil. It is of considerable help if one puts their mind to believing in good. Mankind is a mixed bag of good and evil depending on one’s proclivities for one or the other. Good is bolstered by the bible. Unlike any other book, that one is the writing of our creator. That is the difficult pill for so many to swallow: God.

Personally, I never had a problem with believing. It made sense to me at a very young age that this magnificent world was one of thought, before creation. Otherwise, we wouldn’t be here and if you look around the universe, that we can see enough of to judge, this planet is a stand alone. A unique little ball of us and us cannot live without ideal conditions. Conditions that do not exist elsewhere that we know of.

Now, I didn’t put this all together on a Saturday afternoon. I did, in fact, go the way of greed, avarice, terrible habits and, well, you name it. If it is wrong I probably had a part in it but all of that was long ago. I stopped when I began reading and studying the bible. God’s word is a powerful message of fact even though it is called stories and fables today. Those who call it this have not realized that mankind with his science is a lot of guess work stated as fact. Reliance on the machines we make, be those telescopes or electronic and wonderful inventions, are all earthbound. So are our mathematics earthbound. Our perspective of the universe is from Earth, not out in places we don’t even know of yet. Mathematics, though wonderful and complex, are single sided and earthbound.

I understood this by study, gleaning a bit here and a bit there. I have no answers for all that exists other than God. If there is a better concept than this I have not heard it yet. “Big Bang?” Not likely as I have been to war and big bangs do not create, instead, they kill, maim and destroy when they occur. Yet, scientists confess to order in the universe. Opposite poles do not attract do they? No, they repel. I find it all fascinating and wish I could live another seventy-seven years to better understand. Until then, I await God who is bringing things here to a close sooner than we think. I suppose you must read the bible to understand where we all are in time?
