Lucky?

I’ve heard it said, most all my life, that to get old is to be lucky. I ask, why? Getting old means that if you still have your mind you sadly lack the physical prowess. What good is a brain without a body that works? Nah, I don’t do crossword puzzles, I leave those to my wife. I do work with servers though but only because when I was college age there were no computers so I figured now’s as good a time as any to learn to build websites. Oh, I’m way too old to go back to college. Besides, I don’t speak the lingo or believe the prattle.

You’re going to ask why a lot here. I don’t mind if you do. My why is the same as yours: because I still can. Who knows what tomorrow will bring but I can count on it not being a bag of cash! Hell, a free life insurance policy wouldn’t do me much good either. Why do we have to pay most of our lives to have money we will never touch go to someone else? For that matter, why do they call it, “life insurance?” That’s a load of BS is what that is. Have a nice death as your living family spends the money you just finished paying into life insurance. I’ll take a burger and fries instead. No Coke or Pepsi!

Life is a bowl that takes a lifetime to crawl out of. You thought I would say cherries with that bowl? I’ve got a cherry tree in the back so I had that covered. Took the dang tree about four years to produce around thirty cherries to! That’s a lot of water for little round fruits. Sure, the leaves are green all summer but the cherries only last about four days. It is bad financial theory to raise cherry trees. Besides, I am not a revolutionary I am just an old guy who prefers being left alone to parties and get-together’s. Curmudgeon is a title that does not offend me as it is nicely succinct in describing what I have become. You know, if the name fits?

I bet you’re wondering why you read down this page this far. Because you got more and more curious as to how I would take a disjointed screed and tie it all together; that’s why. Don’t feel ashamed, it wasn’t a trap it was just me exercising my freedom of speech and my penchant for itchy verbiage.

Speaking of servers I began a tutorial here if you’re interested in doing what I am doing.
